A Theatre Spectacular full of
Join us virtually for the premiere April 2nd filmed live from Kingsbury Hall in Salt Lake City!
Where the mystical is not myth, and the mythical is live onstage before your very eyes.
Black Benatar is the ringleader of the Black Magic Cabaret and they are ready to take you on a fantastical – and all too real – tour of racial justice in the USA. Using magic tricks, circus pageantry, interactive game shows, and a whole lotta queer camp, Black Benatar is here to push you out of your comfort zone and into a place of collective joy!
The World's first Historically Black Magic Cabaret Certified Ally.
Wyatt Allai is Black Benatar’s reparations intern and she’s gonna make him WERQUE. But will he be able to exorcise his white tears, the deadliest of substances, so he can use his privilege for good? Will he survive Black Benatar’s “What’s So Bad About That?” game show? And, most importantly, will he ignorantly bring Black Benatar fried chicken again? Tune into the cabaret to find out if Wyatt’s night will end in graduation or gloom!
Defying genre, conventions, white fragility, and even gravity itself!
Headlined by the gravity-defying Black trans Chinese Pole acrobat Toni Cannon, the cabaret features circus and vaudeville inspired acts, too! We’ve even brought in some local LGBTQ+ performers from Salt Lake City to share their talents with you. Each performer adds their own magic to the show, and it’s bound to be a night full of surprises. One thing is for sure – you’ve never seen a show like this!
A CULTURALLY DIVERSE, NON-DENOMINATIONAL, INTERSECTIONAL,
SMORGASBORD OF LOVE.
